The above chart depicts the changes in three different areas of crime in Manchester city for a period of 10 years starting from 2003 and ending on 2012. The chart provides information about the trend of crimes, i.e., burglary, car theft and robbery during the period. The line graphs yellow, red and green represent burglary, car theft and robbery respectively.
As the graph suggests, burglary initially rose for the first one year and then plunged until 2008. However, a moderate rise could be noticed from 2008 to 2009 and has not showed much fluctuations till then.
At the beginning of 2003, car theft was in between 2000-2500 and fell moderately until 2006. Then, minor fluctuations occured in between 2006-2008. But, it rose steadily from there onwards.
As with robbery, it was never like burglary and car theft. Started from 500, took a dip until 2006 and thereafter not much fluctuation have been observed until 2012.
From the chart, it is apparent that car theft is recently on the rise followed by burglary and robbery.
