Overall, the majority of reservoirs recorded increases after one year. Notably, Brisbane’s reservoir received the most water throughout the time period.
Regarding cities that witnessed rises in water level of reservoirs, Brisbane and Darwin both started at 75% in 2009. Brisbane saw a greater increase, as its reservoirs were full in October 2010, while Darwin’s percentage rose marginally by 5%. Reservoirs in Canberra stored half their capacity in 2009, but that figure surged to 73% in the following year. Melbourne, which got the least amount of water in the first year, had a modest growth from 35% to 45%.
In contrast, Perth’s water level was halved from 51% to only 26%. In Sydney, pool level experienced no change, remaining at 49% for the entire time frame.
