The bar chart illustrates the causes of worldwide land degradation citing North America, Europe and Oceania quantifying the land in proportions.
Overall, A vast region of Oceania has been rendered agriculturally unproductive due to overgrazing. While deforestation and over-cultivation were the most significant causes in Europe.
In Oceania, Overgrazing has negatively impacted on about 15% of the land which is an enomous percentage compared to that of Europe and North America. While deforestation and other causes contributed to this problem at 2% and 8% respectively, overcultivation had absolutely no recorded role in reduction of productivity in Oceania.
Europe on the other hand has majorly lost productivity as a result of Deforestation which accounted for about 8%. This was a higher proportion compared to 1.8% in Oceania and a dismal 0.1% in North America. However, Europe recorded the highest proportion of damaged land from other causes of upto 7% while the other two countries had a negligible figures os below 1%.
