The line graph illustrates how many people have moved from rural to urban areas in Iran, Indonesia, and Russia since 2000, with predictions until 2025.
In general, all three countries have experienced growth in the number of people who have become urban citizens, and they are predicted to continue growing until 2025. Iran is predicted to be the country with the highest number of migrants, whereas Indonesia’s figure will be the lowest.
At the beginning of the period, Russia had the largest proportion of residents who moved to urban regions, at around 15 million people, followed by Indonesia and Iran at roughly 10 and 8 million, respectively.
By today, the number of city residents in Russia dramatically increased to 70 million in 2015 and has continued to increase to almost 80 million until now. Similarly, Iranian citizens slowly rose by about 2 million between 2000 and 2005 before growing rapidly to 80 million by today. In contrast, Indonesia increased slowly going up to 30 million in 2020.
According to the predictions, Iran will have approximately 95 million people, overtaking Russia, which will have 10 million fewer people moving to urban areas. The rate of Indonesians is likely to stand at 30 million points with no changes.
