By 2004, China had the highest number of applicants up to 25.000 followed by USA with more than 10.000 applicants, Japan with more than 5.000 applicants, and Russia with below 5.000 applicants, made it the country that had the lowest applicants among the other countries.
By 2005, the number of applicants susbtiantally decreased but China still led with up to 20.000 applicants, followed by USA, Japan, and Russia.
By 2006, USA had equally numbers of applicants that are enrolled in universities as China with more than 15.000 applicants, followed by Japan and Russia. While by 2007 and 2008, USA led with more than 20.000 applicants, dethroned China on the highest numbers for 3 whole years.
Overall, the chart showed that China and USA had the highest number of applicants compared with Japan and Russia.
