Overall, it can be noticed that Chinese students were the most international students joining these universities in 2004 but this number decreased over the years. On the other hand the number of Japanese, American and Russian students fluctuated over the years. The number of American students witnessed a great increase in 2007.
To begin with, in 2007 Chinese students were over 25000, while American students were around 12000 and Russian students number didn’t exceed 3000. From 2005 to 2007 the number of international students started fluctuating while at 2008 the American students’ number reached it’s peak to around 26000, Chinese students decreased to 15000. Although Russian students number increased in 2008 it reached only 10000 and Russians were around 3000.
