The infographic provides an analysis of three different companies in Montreal in terms of their phone usage among the public from 2010 to 2015, at a one-year interval. The data covers Apple, Samsung, Nokia, with values expressed in numbers.
Overall, all the cell phone producers on the list exhibited rises, to varying degrees and in different patterns. Of all these phone users, Apple recorded the highest numbers, far surpassing its competitors irrespective of the year, with the gap between campaigns yawning by the end of the period.
Apple began the period representing the highest number of smartphone users, roughly 35 million. In 2014, this figure grew steadily, reaching 50 million, before surging sharply to a peak of 68 million by the end of the span. Unlike other companies, Apple manifested nearly a doubling of its initial user base with the most consistent growth among all companies.
The trends for the two remaining companies differed, though. The second-largest in terms of its users, Samsung, starting with 26 million in 2010, climbed to 47 million in 2012, simultaneously surpassing Apple. Later, however, numbers dropped to 32 million in 2014 to rebound to 42 million by the end of the period. Meanwhile, Nokia, which had the smallest user base initially, saw its figures more than double from 16 million to 41 million over the period. Being overtaken again in 2014-2015, it briefly surpassed Samsung between 2012 and 2013.
