The given bar graph demonstrates the number of university students and various subjects which they received education at university in 1980

Overall, it is evident that there were more girls than boys at university, and science was favored lesson among the males, whereas arts the most popular subject for females. Additionally, law had the smallest number of students, while medicine had the largest.

From the data provided in the bar chart, the science and maths subjects more popular among the boys compared to girls, the figures were about 4.5 thousand and 3.1 thousand for boys respectively. Languages was the least portion for males with approximately 1.5 thousand.

With regards to the female students, the arts was the largest share out of the six different subjects, with about 4.8 thousand girl, whereas the law was the least favored lesson for girls, and also, this subject had the closest number of male and female compared to all subjects, which were about 1.7 thousand for boys and 1.8 thousand for girls. Apart from this, there were approximately 4.2 thousand girl at the medicine and languages lesson in 1980.
