The bar chart illustrates the number of three different visitor groups to a museum over a 15-year period from 1997 to 2012.
Overall, while adult visitors showed a substantial increase and special exhibition visitors experienced a slight growth during the period shown, the number of visitors aged under 15 declined significantly. In addition, adult visitors consistently dominated museum attendance, whereas special exhibition visitors remained the smallest group throughout the period.
Looking at adult visitors, who visited the museum the most, their figure stood at approximately 300,000 in 1997, and after a slight increase of about 2,000 by 2002, it rose significantly to reach its peak of around 400,000 in 2007. However, the number fell slightly to 380,000 by the end of the period.
Regarding the other two categories, visitors aged under 15 started at 120,000 in 1997, before declining steadily to 82,300 in 2012. In contrast, the number of special exhibition visitors showed an upward trend, with their numbers increasing from 28,000 to 42,000 over the 15-year period.
