Overall, there was a notable shift in sales distribution, with Asia experiencing a gradual increase, while both America and Europe displayed fluctuating trends. Asia also became the region which generated the highest market share in 2006.
To begin with, America’s sales was the highest percentage of total sales in 2002 before significantly decreasing to just a third (27%) in 2004. Afterwards, it slightly recovered by 3% in 2006. The figure for Europe’s turnover constantly fluctuated between 34% and 38% throughout the period from 2002 to 2006, with its highest share recorded in 2004.
Regarding Asia, conversely experienced an upward trend when it gradually rose from 25% in 2002 to 40% in 2006, dramatically overtaking America’s share in 2002 to became the drug market with the highest revenue during the researched period.
