The chart illustrates the figure for generation wind energy across four countries, namely India, Denmark, Germany and United States from 1980 to 2000.
Overall, the amount of wind energy generated rose considerably across three countries over the whole period shown, with United States being the only country that experienced a remarkable decline.
Looking at the details, Denmark’s energy generation started at just over 200 megawatts in 1985, soaring enormously by approximatelly 1400 megawatts produced in 2000 to become the leading country. In terms of India, its trend stood at 200 megawatts, which was followed by a significant increase to 800 megawatts 1995, reaching its peak at 1200 megawatts in 2000 and overtaking the Germany’s production. Regarding Germany, its trend went up dramatically from 400 megawatts in 1985 to well over 600 megawatts in 1990, which was followed by a noticeable rise by roughly 250 megawatts in 2000.
In contrast, United States took the first place in energy generation in 1985, accounting for 1200 megawatts. Following this, its figure peaked in 1990, reaching just over 1600 megawatts, before dropping to around 1500 megawatts in 2000.
