The bar chart refers to data about the rate of children in Australia engaged in four types of activities, namely watching TV, reading, playing computer games, and riding bikes in 2018.
Overall, it is apparent that children of all age groups mostly opted for watching TV, making it the most favorable activity in 2018, while the reverse was true for playing computer games.
Focusing on the details, the figures for reading and watching TV activities were almost the same for children aged from 9 to 16 years, with the respective figures at 80% and 70%. As for the statistics of watching TV and reading among children aged 5–8 years old, the former was by far the greatest, with just under 100%, whereas the latter made up just over 60%.
Turning to other figures, the percentage of teenagers (12–16 years old) interested in riding bikes was double that of playing computer games, at 40%. Additionally, the proportion of children aged 9–11 years was much higher than that of 12–16 years old in terms of riding bikes and playing computer games, with the former surpassing the latter by 10% and 5%, respectively.
