Overall, the percentage of internet access from 1998 to 2008 increased steadily. According to the chart, the lowest internet access was in 1998 with 0 percent which no one knew how to use internet. In 1999, the percentage increased by 2 percent. A year later, the line up to 10 percent. By 2000, the access increased by about 19 percent, and people started access the internet more from 2004 to 2006 with about 25 to 43 percent.
In the last year, 2008, the chart shows a sharp increased start from 60 to nearly 80 percent. That mean European citizens gradually gained access to the internet, while disparities in internet access remained, all income groups experienced notable growth, with low-income households showing the greatest improvement. This increases revenue for internet service providers.
