The bar chart illustrates the proportions of households from various income categories in the United Kingdom that use the internet from 2002 and 2010.
Overall, the ratios between all three categories are raising with almost similar rate in both 2002 and 2010.
In 2002, poor people had a utilization of approximately 39% which increased to 59% in 2010. While middle- income people accounted for almost 50% of internet use in 2002 and this percentage peaked at almost 78% in 2010.
Compared to the other two categories, high income individuals had the highest proportion of internet usage in 2002 with a rate of 65%. Moreover, this category also had the lead in 2010 with an average consumption of 90%. So, in a comparison between the two years, 2002 had the lowest internet access for three groups while in 2010, the uses of the internet raised substantially for all of them. That’s means rich people had a higher access to the internet than limited and middle income groups.
