In 2005, about 20% of low-income households used the internet, compared to 45% in the middle-income group and 75% among high-income households. Over time, these figures rose steadily. By 2010, internet usage had increased to 35%, 60%, and 85% respectively.
This upward trend continued in the following years. In 2015, around 50% of low-income households were online, while the figures for middle- and high-income groups reached 70% and 90%. By 2020, the percentages had grown further to 65% for low-income households, 80% for middle-income, and 95% for high-income groups.
