Overall, the common trend in the number of visitors in six areas experienced an upward trend, and Europe and American countries had the largest number of overseas tourists. In addition, other areas including Africa, South Asia, North Asia and Pacific, and the Middle East, grew most rapidly throughout the period.
As far as Europe is concerned, the number of people increased from 386 to 776 million of people, while followed by a 172 million tourists rise in America between 1995 and 2020. In comparison, the figure for Africa was raised threefold, at 4 million to 19 million. Furthermore, South Asia and North Asia and Pacific stood at 10 and 19 million in 1995, respectively. Over the next 25-years these areas experienced a considerable rise, and reaching to 49 and 88 million, respectively. The number of international visitors arriving in Middle East accounted for 15 million in 1995, and it grew significantly, reaching to just above 90 million.
On the other hand, European and America showed the lowest percentages with just under 4%. Conversely, the annual development of Africa and South Asia was at excatly 5.4% and 5.5%, respectively. While the Middle East ranked first among these areas, with just below 6%.
