Overall,the percentage of those purchasing through browsers rose for all age groups over the period.The number peaked with the 26-35 age group in 2014 and 35-45 in 2018.
Initially,online shoppers started young with 1 in 5 of 15-25 years old transacting online in 2014.This percentage grew to 31% for people in the age of 26 to 35,before only 22% aged 45-55 were shopping online in the same year.By the time shoppers reached the age of 55 to 65,the ratio halved and continued to cut in half again for pension aged shoppers.In 2018,the number of active internet clients increased by around 3% for the first two age groups,however,there was a more significant rise in the age 35 to 45.Ultimately,the augmentation for those who are in their mid-forties or older climbed to around 5% compared to the 2014 figures.
