Females and males with academic degrees in Britain illustrated slight differences, with respective figures of 30 percent and 35 percent. In Japan, the percentage of men with higher education was 30 percent in 2001, slightly higher than women, with 25 percent.
The percentage of females with academic credentials in Germany and the United States is slightly higher than that of males. In Germany, a higher proportion was observed in females with educational qualifications than men, 45 percent and 35 percent respectively. The figure for women with academic credentials was 40 percent in 2001, while the proportion of men was 35 percent in 2001 in the United States.
