The bar chart given captures the percentage in 2001 to 2008 of UK citizens who ate fruit and vegetables in five portions each day. Overall, it clearly shows that women are the biggest consumer while children are the smallest consumer. Furthermore, it is visible that the graph is fluctuative throughout the years and peak of the consumption occurred in 2006 while 2001 was the lowest percentage.
Firstly, focusing on both male and children consumption, in the beginning which is from 2001 to 2003, male and children had remained stable taking place around 17% and 12% respectively, and that is also their lowest point throughout the years. Ever since that, both of them experienced a gradual incline and reached their own peak, Men reached approximately 27% in 2006 while Children stood at 26% in 2007. Although Male remained stable in 2007, it fell to its final point at roughly 26% in 2008. Similarly, after 2007, Children consumption also declined in the final year at around 25%.
Lastly, in women consumption, it has a very visible consistent incline since its lowest point in 2001 which is roughly 21% until it reached around 35% in 2006 that is also its peak. On the contrary, after the year 2006, it consistently fell until 2008 reaching its final percentage which is approximately 31%
