Overall, the population in urban areas has risen since the beginning of the period, and will continue to grow until 2050, with an exception of Oceania, where numbers fluctuated slightly. North America appears to be the continent with the highest achievements, during all 3 years.
In 1975, the percentage of population living in urban locations in world wouldn’t make 40%, however, until 2050, it is predicted a rise of 30%, since in reality, it has reached around 55%.
Africa is the continent with less population living in urban areas, reaching only 25% in 1975 and the double in 2020, in 2050, it is calculated that the numbers will achieve almost the triple as it did in the beginning of the period. North America stands out of its impressive numbers, and for being at the top throughout the hole period, having values of around 72%, 82% and 90%, respectively. The other continents present similar relations, with the irregularity of Oceania, which started with a population of 71%, decreased for 78% and is predicted to rose reaching 72%
