The line graph illustrates the price of 800 grams of four types of bread: wholegrain, brown, white and rye in the USA country for twenty years from 2015 till 2035. The features are presented in US dollars.
Overall, it is noticeable that three breads’ price in the market fluctuated across ten years including wholegrain, brown and rye to various degrees, with wholegrain bread being the most expensive in 2020 at 1.8 dollars and rye being the cheapest in the same year at 0.5 dollars.
In 2015, brown, white and rye shared the same cost of 0.6 dollars, while wholegrain cost higher by just 0.2 dollars. Five years later, in 2020, the cost to buy wholegrain and brown breads increased by a similar rate, while that of white bread rose slightly. In contrast, the price of rye dropped by 0.1 dollar. Recently, in 2025, the price of brown, white and rye surged slightly. Conversely, the cost of wholegrain dramatically decreased to just 1 dollar.
For projection from 2025 onwards, while the price of white and rye bread were predicted to increase, brown and wholegrain were predicted to fall moderately. However, from the prediction, all types of bread will be charged at a slightly higher price in 2035, compared to 2030.
