Overall, according to the chart, the price of brown, white, and rye bread has slightly increased, compared to the wholegrain type, whose cost is the same as 20 years ago; however, it has had its dips and ups during this period of time.
The value of wholegrain bread has changed all the time. In the first 5 years, its price has almost doubled. However, in the next decade, it dropped to 0.7 US dollars. After years of drawbacks, the cost of bread rose to its beginning point, which was 80 cents.
The other three categories started from the same point; however, the brown bread managed to get the biggest increase. At the end, it reached the price of 1.6 dollars, which is the highest, compared to all other types. The white one also made a great improvement, since until 2025 its cost was equal to 1.3 dollars. The least expensive bread turned out to be rye.
