The two pie charts display the motive behind people’s decision to travel by driving or by cycling.
Overall, health and fitness concerns accumulated the highest proportion of individuals who traveled by cycle as well as creating less pollution. Nonetheless, the majority of people who drove to work chose the car due to the comfort aspect.
The lack of parking problems and non-existent costs were the second and the third highest reasons, respectively, for using a cycle. To be precise, the former contributed to 15% of the total with 2% less for the latter. Almost equal percentages of people were convinced by their choice of transportation due to it being faster than the other, which was 12% for car drivers and 2% more for cycle users.
Drivers were driven by the comfort of it, reaching 40% of the overall share. However, the longevity of the ride to work was the second-highest motive for people to use cars with half of the biggest portion. Furthermore, the need to carry personal belongings and the idea of a safer transportation method accounted for the remaining portion with 14% and 11%, respectively.
