The diagrams compare how much time both gender spend on household and leisure activities in 2008.
Overall, men spent more time on leisure activities, whereas women involved more time to household chores. Cooking and washing have the largest proportion of women’s household activities while repair were only task that men spent more in.
In household chores, women spent far more time on cooking and washing than men, at about 70 minutes and 35 minutes, respectively. Shopping was the second most time- consuming activity for women, taking them about 37 minutes per day while men only take 30 minutes. Clothing washing and ironing share the same relative height as shopping, cooking and washing. 30 minutes to clothes washing and ironing was spent by women, 20 minutes more than men (10 minutes). By contract, repairs were the only household chores that men spent more time, about 20 minutes per day while women spent around 10 minutes.
Regarding leisure activities, watching TV, videos, and listening to the radio witnessed the highest amount of time for man and women, at 137 minutes and 118 minutes, respectively. Reading book also accounted for almost same time, 18 minutes for men and 19 minutes for woman. Similarly, men spent more time doing sports, at 15 minutes per day, compared with 11 minutes for woman.
