Overall, it is clear that the proportion of retired men all dominated among 7 countries in both two years. Also notable is that all figures for women witnessed an upward trend in 6 countries after 4 year, except for Italy.
In terms of men, Sweden still remained as the highest share in the charts in 2004 and 2008. Followed by the Netherlands and UK, which had quite similar proportions in both two years. Although the percentage of retired men in Denmark was lower in 2004, it surprisingly surpassed itself after 4 years. The same trend was seen in Germany, which only involved 61 percent in the first year but then grew up by 1 percent. Interestingly, the retired male in Italy remained 60 percent for each year. Lastly, France was reported as lowest figures in the chart, which was just 59 percent and under.
By comparison, the figure for retired women also had the same trend as men in both two years. Specifically, the Sweden still the biggest figures in the bar chart, then Netherlands and UK. In contrast, while the percent of retired men were equal in two years, the retirement of women in 2004 is larger than 2008.
