In Sydney, the majority of residents, approximately 65%, prefer buying fresh coffee, while 50% opt for instant coffee, and 60% visit a café. In contrast, Melbourne exhibits a slightly lower tendency, with around 55% buying fresh coffee, 45% opting for instant coffee, and 55% frequenting a café. Brisbane, on the other hand, displays a relatively lower inclination towards buying coffee, with 50% and 42% preferring fresh and instant coffee, respectively, and 38% visiting a café.
Adelaide and Hobart exhibit distinct patterns in their coffee and tea habits. In Adelaide, around 45% of residents buy fresh coffee, 38% opt for instant coffee, and 40% visit a café. Hobart, however, displays a strong preference for fresh coffee, with nearly 60% of residents buying it, followed by 40% opting for instant coffee, and 50% visiting a café. Notably, Hobart records the highest percentage of residents buying fresh coffee among the five cities.
