The bar chart illustrates information from a survey regarding the purchasing and consumption habits of coffee and tea among people in five cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart) in Australia. The chart provides data on usage over a period of four weeks.
Overall, the proportion of people who chose to visit a café for coffee or tea during the given period was higher compared to the other two categories, with Adelaide being the only exception where more people bought instant coffee.
Most residents in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Hobart visited a café for coffee or tea at approximately 62%, 64%, 55%, and 63% respectively, whereas in Adelaide, slightly under 50% of residents did so. In Sydney and Melbourne, less than half of the population opted for instant coffee (about 46% in Sydney and 48% in Melbourne). Half of the residents in Adelaide bought instant coffee; however, in Brisbane, over 50%, and in Hobart, slightly under 55%, chose instant coffee.
In contrast, the proportion of people who bought fresh coffee never exceeded 45% in any of the five cities, with Brisbane and Adelaide both at nearly 35%, while in Hobart, this amount stood at just over 35%. Sydney and Melbourne both had more than 35% of residents who chose fresh coffee.
