The illustration displays the results of a questionaire regarding people who visited four types of tourist attraction (Theme parks, wildlife parks & zoos, Historic houses & monuments, and museums & galleries) in Britain during 1999.
The proportion of visitors who visited theme parks were the highest, with 38% visitors. Theme parks are then grouped into 5 different parks, which are Blackpool pleasure beach, alton towers, Pleasureland Southport, Chessington World of Adventures, and legoland, Windsor. Blackpool Pleasure Beach had the largest number of visitors, with 47% visitors from the total. The number is then followed by the other parks, ranging from 17% to 10% tourists.
The second highest distribution of visitors belonged to museums & galleries at 37%. Historic houses & monuments, along with wildlife parks & zoos, were not as popular as the other two. Historical places and wildlife centres had 16% and 9% tourists respectively.
