The chart details the spending by 18-20-year-olds in one country on five different products in 2010 and 2014.
In general, it is noticeable that the amount of spending on toiletries rose steadily. Besides, the figures for food and smartphones experienced a sharply downward trend. However, that of books fell significantly. At last, the amount of clothes stayed almost the same.
In 2010, the quantity of spending on food was the highest, at about 37 million dollars. This was followed by the figures for clothes, smartphones, toiletries and books, at 25,20,18 and 10 million dollars respectively.
4 years later, the amount of spending on toiletries observed a moderate increase to 20 million dollars. Simultaneously, there was a substantial growth in the figures for food and smartphones to approximately 45 and 28 million dollars in turn. Nevertheless, a dramatic climb was seen to 5 million dollars in that of books. The quantity of clothes remained unchanged, at 25 million dollars.
