Overall, there was an increase trend in burning the waste; meanwhile, a decline in the amount of waste that was eliminated by landfill and dumping at sea. However, the figure for landfill remained highest until being exceeded by the popularity of burning way in the end of period.
In 2005, this country was likely to dispose of the waste via landfill, at 1800 million tonnes, becoming the highest figure recorded through the period. However, in the next 3 years of period the figure for landfilled waste reduced significantly and reached at 600 million tonnes in 2008. Similar changes, but a lesser extent, each year this Europe country dumped 600 million tonnes into the sea and just avoided this action in 2008 with around 570 million tonnes.
By contrast, the burning method became more popular. The buried waste was only 500 million tonnes in 2005, however, with the gradual growth in continuos 3 years, its figure was the highest in 2008, at 900 million tonnes.
