The bar graph illustrates the proportions of the world production output from 2 different continents, namely Asia and Europe, and the remaining of the world from 1840 to 2000.
Overall, the world production output of Asia was the highest in 1840, while the production output of Europe took this position in 1920. In contrast, although the rest of the world saw a steady increase, this remained the lowest over the period.
As for Asia, before being the highest in the first year, with 50%. It later decreased steadily to hit a low point ( with 20% ) in the next 80 years. However, the share recovered to 45% in 2000.
During the same period, 40% of the world’s production output was from Europe in 1840, before experiencing a significant rise to reach a peak of 50% in 1920. Despite this increase, the percentage later fell by one-fifth in the last period.
Regarding the rest of the world, although the share of the production output of the world from the rest of the world climbed up from 10% to nearly 40% in the first 120 years, the share saw a slight decline by approximately 6% in 2000.
