The line chart illustrate the ratio of various crimes that was committed in England and Wales from 1970 to 2005. The crimes that mentioned in chart were car theft, street robbery and house burglary.
Overall, throughout the period, the number of committed crimes (car theft, street robbery, house burglary) had increased substantially. Specifically, in 1995, there was a dramatic rise in the percentage of car theft crimes. Whereas the ratio of house burglary had dropped significantly after 1995.
According to the chart, from 1970 to 1990, there was zero incidents of street robbery, compared to house burglary and car theft which were increasing at a fast pace. However, after 1995, the numbers of incidents had grown significantly, and by 2005, it was approximately 2 percent in millions.
In the beginning, the figure of car theft and house burglary incidents were increasing at a similar pace until 1990. Between 1990-1995, there was sharp increase in car theft incidents, from 1.0 percent to 1.6 percent in millions. Though, house burglary incidents remained stagnant during that period. After 1995,the number of incidents of both crimes had declined substantially.
