The presented chart gives information on the world production of vehicles namely bicycles and cars you’re in a 50 year period between 1950 and 2000.
From an overall perspective, the manufacturing of both types of modes of transport demonstrated a surge, however to a different extent.
Bicycles and cars fabrication experienced a dramatic increase starting from relatively similar at around 450 thousand and 300 thousand in 1950 to 1 million and 750 thousand in 1960 correspondently. After reaching 45 million in 1970, bicycles went up abruptly, while cars continued to grow slowly, making it slightly over 1 million during the same period. By 1980, the production of bicycles doubled, going up to around 105 million, whereas for cars it surged 24 million, making it to 25 million. As bicycles continued to rise marginally in manufacturing (to 175 million) in 1990, the production of cars rose with the number of vehicles being around 42 million. Finally, the fabrication of bicycles boasted an increase, where the rise from 175 million to 230 million over the next decade was recorded, whilst the production of cars only reached 50 million (2000).
