Overall, Bus and trail were the most widely used means of transport in both year, while air travel rose noticeably and traveled by bcycle and motobike were decline. Moreover,the total of distances travelled increased sightly over the period.
In 1990, passengers tralleved about 41 km per week by bus,which was the highest figure among the five transport types, and this figure rose slightly to around 42 km in 2000. Rail ranked second after bus in both year. Rail travelled also increased marginally, from 30 km to just over 30km . Moverover, the total of distances rose significantly, rising to100km from roughly 110km per person per week.
By contrast, the distances travelled by bicycle and motorbike were much lower and both showed a downward trend. Bicycle use fell from around 10 km to bout 5km , while motorbike dropped to roughly 3km in 2000. Meawhile, air travel experienced a significant increase, rising from about 5km in 1990 to 20 km in 2000.
