The line and bar graphs illustrate the number of people around the globe as well as the number of residents in cities of developed and developing regions. It also makes future predition of these figures.
Overall, the population of the world has been growing over the years, and it is expected to rise significantly. Most of this growth is attributed to developing countries, which show steady increase compared the developed ones, that are no longer growing.
As showen in the line graph, there were only a billion people in the world in 1800, and this figure rose steadily untill 1950, where it reached around 2.5 billion. However, starting from 1960, the number started soaring, and by 2020, it got to around 7000,000,000. In the future, it is estimated to exceed 8 billion, which will be its peak, and expected to decline after to as low as almost 6 billion in 2100.
Consequently, the number of urban dwellers in developing countries has been growing from arround 2 billion in 2015 to a little over 2500 in 2020, and this figure is expected to continue with the same treand and reach 4 billion in 2040. On the other hand, in developed regions, the population of people in cities was over 1 billion in 2015 and there has not been any noticeable change over the years, nor will it has any in the future.
