The bar charts compare the percentage of employment by gender, were aged 60-64 in four countries, in 1970 and 2000.
Overall, it’s clear that men had more participation compared to women in both mentioned years. Noticeably, the proportion of aged employees also decreased in 2000.
USA and Indonesia had the highest percentage of male workers in 1970 and 2000. In 1970, 87% of American and 85% of Indonesian men had been employed, which grew to 79% in the USA and 72% in Indonesia, in 2000. Additionally, the proportion of female employees was 78% in the USA and 65% in Indonesia, which was the greatest number for women, in 1970. In 2000, Indonesian females with 50 % stood at the top, and the American woman conversely dropped to 40%.
In 1970, the male participation in Belgium and Japan was lower, with 79% and 76% respectively. However, both countries had approximately 52% male workers in the last year. Also, the other gender had the same function, but Belgium with 63% of workers was above Japan. In 2000 both countries cut the number of employees but this situation reversed, and Belgium with 10% female workers fell.
