Overall, both concerts and CD saw a downward trend while the digital downloads experienced a considerable rise in the proportion of expense.
In 2005, the percentage of money spent on CD was the largest, which accounted for 61%, doubled the data of concerts and nearly tenfold bigger than the digital downloads. However, the figure of CD spending encountered a decrease of 16% by 2008 (with 45%), and dropped considerably to only 26% in 2011, making it the lowest figure of all categories. Similarly, concerts also comprised 31% in 2005, becoming the second highest proportion. Nevertheless, it reduced to 25% in 2008 and showed a slight increase to 28% by 2011.
Despite being the least spent category in 2005 with only 6%, digital downloads percentage tripled in 2008 with around 28%. In the last examined year, proportion almost double to 44%, claiming it as the highest figure over its counterparts.
