The bar charts illustrate information about the percentage of males and females aged between 5 and 14 doing various activities and sports in Australia in 2003. Overall, sports and musicals sections were more interesting for people regardless of gender. While dancing was the most popular activity for females after sports, it was the least favored activity for males.
Starting with the figures for drama and singing. These figures were almost the same; the figure for drama was 4% for boys and 5% for girls, which was as high as the same data for singing. The dancing section had the highest percentage for girls and the lowest for boys among the four listed sections, excluding sports. The percentage of females who were interested in dancing was 25%, followed distantly by that of their male comrades, whose percentage was only 3%.
In both playing musical and sport activities, the male percentage dominated. While 15% of boys participated in playing musical instruments, the opposite gender participants’ percentage was 5% less, indicating less interest from girls. The highest percentage had the sport activities. The percentage of boys who were actively involved in sports was 70%, making it slightly bigger than that of the female figure, with 50% involved.
