The charts depict which genres of films women and men prefer to watch and the distribution of those, who go to the cinema by age in 2018.
Overall, action movies tend to be most favorited by men, whereas historical drama is the most popular among women. People aged 26 to 44 are the most active cinemagoers, while pensioneers over 56 have the smallest percentage of those, who see films in cinemas.
Action and romcom have a higher number of male audience (approximatelly 45 and 37 millions respectively compared to nearly 30 and 26 millions respectively among women). Meanwhile historical drama and westerns have a higher number of female viewers than male (about 30 and 7 millions respectively for women and nearly 25 and 5 million respectively for men).
26 to 44 year-olds are the biggest cathegory of those, who go to the cinema (38%). 18 to 25 year old people are only 7% under. A quarter of cinemagoers are between 45 and 55 years old, while those, who are 56 and older have the lowest percentage (6%).
