Overall, it can be observed that women spend considerebly more time on indoor chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry, while men devote more time to outdoor activities like gardening and odd jobs. The largest gender gap appears in cooking and washing up, whereas the smallest difference occurs in tasks related to childcare.
To begin with, women spend 74 minutes a day on cooking, baking, and washing up, almost double than the 30 minutes recorded for men. The cleaning and house tidying data shows a similar pattern, with women spending 58 minutes per day compared to only 13 minutes for men. However, the first result worth pointing out in gardening and pet care is the reverse trend with men spending nearly 49.5 minutes and women only 21 minutes.
Meanwhile, in the care of their own chidren and play, women allocate 45 minutes which is more than double the 20 minutes for men. Another trend that can be observed is in maintenance and odd jobs, where men contribute 26 minutes, almost triple the 9.5 minutes recorded for women. Most noticeably of all is clothes washin, ironing and sewing trend where women spend 25 minutes and men only 2 minutes.
