The line graph illustrates how much energy was consumed in 5 countries between 2000 and 2004.
Overall, Country A consumed the greatest electricity for the first two years; however, country B overtook it throughout the last period. While Country B, C, D witnessed an upward trend throughout the years, Country A electricity consumption declined gradually and that of Country E nearly showed no changes.
In 2000, country A had used 4000 kWh, securing the top position among the five nations. Trailing closely behind was the energy consumption of country B with 3700 kWh, 1200kWh higher than that for D and 1700 kWh higher than the figure for C. This was nearly double the usage of country E, which stood at exactly 1000kWh, occupying the lowest position.
From then on, electricity consumption experienced a sharp decline, reaching roughly 3200kWh in 2004. In contrast, energy utilization rose steadily from about 3700kWh to 4200kWh, becoming the leading category by the end of the period. Similarly, it is recorded that more electricity to 2200kWh and 2700kWh was consumed by citizens in country C and D correspondingly, slightly greater than those figures in the first year of the period. Finally, the consumption of E fluctuated around the vicinity of 1000kWh during the entire period.
