Whereas the amount of the English/Irish almost stayed the same, other ethnic groups, except for Indian, rose dramatically during this time period. Turkish population had jumped from approximately 2000 people in 1950 to more than 10000 in 2010, becoming a considerable part of Augusta’s population. There is a similar pattern for both other and Chinese population, with no Chinese people in Augusta in 1950 and a growth to 10% of population in 2010.
Turning to Indian population, it is clear that there had been a steady rise from few people in 1950 to around a 1000 people in 2010, which made up about 1% of Augusta’s population.
To sum up, the population of minor groups increased broadly since 1950 to 2010, aside from Indians, resulting in the English/Irish making up only approximately half of the population to the end of this time period.
