The presented line graph depics the trends in music purchasing hobbies from streams, downloads, CDs over the period of seven years, starting from 2011.
Overall, it is evident that the trends in stream witnessed an upward trend, the opposite was true for downloads and CDs. Remarkably, CDs was the most popular trend in music habits in the first three years, which was replaced by streams in the last year.
Looking closely at the line graph, 55% people bought music through CDs, which was significantly higher than that of the streams, at 5%. Over the following six years, the figure for the CDs decreased dramatically to below 30% in 2018. Meanwhile, the percentage of people buying music through streams experienced a considerable increase to 30% and surpassed that of the CDs until it reached a peak of over 40% in 2018.
Turning to the remaining category, the statistic for the downloads started at about 35%. After that, it rose moderately to above 40%, before declining sharply to 30% at the end of the observed period.
