The given chart illustrates the pecentage of individuals living alone across five distinct age categories in the United States from 1850 to 2000.In general we can observe that the pecentage ov idividuals living alone in 2000 significantly increased compared to previous years.
According to 2000 chart the amount of people living alone at the age of 17-26 has doubled, taking the overall percentage from 2% to 4%. The amount of people living alone from the age of 27 to 36 and from the age of 37 to 46 doubled too, making the percentage of stated in 2000 being 8% and 7% respectively, wich compared with 1950’s 3% on both. We can also see that the amount of people living alone at the age gap from 47 to 54 has spiked from being 3% in 1950 to being 13% in 2000. Taking a closer look at 1950 data shows that the amount of people living alone at the age from 55 to 64 dramaticly incresed compared to 1900 results, tripling the amount of stated.
