The chart illustrates the distribution of male and female educators within six various categories of educational setting in the UK during 2010.
It is clear that, the percentage of men teaching in universities has overtaken the number of women educators in academia. Whereas in the Nursing/pre-school education system, we can see that female teachers have outnumbered the male teachers. Furthermore, it is significant that ratio of both male and female teachers in colleges is approximately the same.
As shown in the figure, as the educational setting becomes more advanced, the number of female educators decreases, while the number of male educators increases. The proportion of women teachers drops sharply from nearly 100% in early education, in contrast the percentage of men rises significantly from about 10% to 70%.
However, the percentage of both gender educators in secondary school and private training institutes is approximately equal
