The bar graph delineates the changes in the proportion of three different groups, people who have moved house in the last three years, between 3 and 5 years, and not moving within the last 5 years.
Overall, the figure shows that the highest percentage of people moving house 3 to 5 years ago is in the group aged 40 to 49, whereas those aged 50 account for the highest proportion of group living in the same house.
First of all, those aged 40 to 49 are responsible for the highest percentage of people moving over 5 years ago compared to 14% of those not moving house and people who moved in the last 3 years is around 31%. Additionally, in the older group the proportion of people who moved house in the last 5 years and stayed in the same house is almost the same below 43%, with only 17% of people moved recently.
Meanwhile, those in their twenties and thirties the percentage of people who stayed in the same house is less a quarter. There are small differences between the number of people moved house recently and in the last 5 years by 1%, while in the latter group aged around 20 has a higher proportion around 45%.
