Overall, British people are growing their interest in foot, swimming, and rugby, whereas the reverse was true for the other three sports. In addition, foot sports had the highest popularity among people, while the opposite was true for golf.
Regarding the popular activities, the proportion of foot participants was 40%, which was twice as much as swimming and rugby, at around 25% for each. Toward the end of the period, foot participants gradually increased to around 44%, remaining a popular activity, while swimming after increased notably to 29%, it decreased slightly to 26%, and rugby attendance declined to under 20, before it surged to the same level as swimming participation in 2005.
Turning to the least enthusiastic sports, 30% the participants in Britain played snooker and tennis each in 1995. Over the period, both of them plummeted to 22%, while snooker players minimally increased to 23%, and the tennis attendance remained unchanged. Golf had the least attendance, comprising 18%, before it declined to 15%, remaining untouched in the lowest position at 15%.
