The bar chart illustrates the percentage of individuals in a UK survey conducted in three years 1995, 2000 and 2005 who claimed that they were fascinated by five physical activities comprising foot, swim, rugby, snooker, tennis and golf.
Overall, the number of walking lovers always represented the most proportion during the period shown, while the opposite was true for golf lovers. In addition, in contrast to the figures for people interested in walking, swimming and rugby which increase, those of the three remaining sports decreased.
To commence, walking lovers firstly occupied around 41% in 1995 before gradually increasing to approximately 43% in the final year. Moreover, the figures for the two remaining sports were similar. Starting at around 23% in 1995, they rose to about 28% in 2000 before experiencing a slight downturn to 25% in the final year.
In contrast, the percentage of individuals who loved tennis decreased significantly from around 28% to about 23% then remained constant there. Additionally, the proportion of snooker lovers decreased dramatically from 30% to approximately 21% before marginally rose to about 23%. This was similar to the figure for golf lovers, which experienced a slight fall of 2% to 23% in 1995 before a subsequent negligible upturn to around 24% in 2005.
