Overall , while the usage of renewable energy in Sweden and Iceland adhered to rising trends albeit to varying degrees, the reverse was true for Australia and Turkey which experienced a moderate decrease in the amount of renewable energy used.
In 1997 the proportion of renewable energy in total energy source stood at 5% and around 45% in Sweden and Iceland respectively and the former saw a slight growth to 9% however there was a significant increase in the latter to whopping 70% in the end of the period given.
