Yellow Taxis show a falling trend from January 2015 to January 2018 with noticable fluctuations during the period, while Uber and Lyft show rising trends.
In the early 2015’s Yellow taxis depicted a highest number of bookings per day with the maximum being 450,000. Yellow taxis seem to loss popularity over the time period with the lowest trips per days were noted as approximately 270,000 during the latter part of the year 2017. Both uber and Lyft show increasing number of trips per day, but Uber particularly shows a rocketing increment. Uber has started from a low number of trips per day as less than 100,000 in the January 2015, and reached over 400,000 by the begining of 2018 with a steady climb. Lyft has started to become popular comparatively later than the other two, but it has also kept the gradual elevation over the time.
Overall, the crowd in New York showed an expanding interest in purchasing rides from ride-sharing services rather than conventional yellow taxis when compared 2015 with 2018.
